Overview & Function

The Pilz 772138 (PNOZ m ES PROFINET) is a communication expansion module for the PNOZmulti 2 configurable safety system. It connects the safety controller to a PROFINET network, exchanging non-safe process and diagnostics data with a higher-level PLC for visualisation, status read-back and standard control. The safety-related logic itself remains internal to the PNOZmulti system; the fieldbus module carries diagnostic and standard data only.

The PNOZ m ES PROFINET transfers non-safety-related diagnostics and process data. The safety functions continue to be performed by the PNOZmulti base unit and its safe I/O, rated up to PL e / Cat. 4 / SIL CL 3. Max. one fieldbus module can be connected per base unit.
