This is a cover plate / frame from the ABB Chiara range of residential and commercial wiring accessories, the modular Italian-style device system used to finish switch, socket and control mechanisms in flush-mounting boxes. The frame covers a horizontal 2-module cut-out and clips over the installed mechanisms to provide a neat finished appearance.
The plate is moulded from thermoplastic in grey with a basic surface finish and fastens by clamp fixing in a horizontal orientation. It is non-illuminated and provides a label space for circuit identification, with a protection degree of IP20.
It is classified as a cover frame for domestic switching devices (ETIM EC000007). As a cosmetic finishing accessory it carries no electrical rating; it dresses the corresponding Chiara mounting box and two-module mechanism set.
