This is a cover plate / frame from the ABB Chiara range of residential and commercial wiring accessories, the Italian-style modular device system used to finish switch, socket and control mechanisms in walls and flush-mounting boxes. The frame covers a horizontal 3-module (1-gang, STONE) cut-out and clips over the installed mechanisms to give a clean finished appearance.
The plate is moulded from thermoplastic in grey with a basic surface finish, measures approximately 119 x 92 mm and stands about 11.5 mm proud of the wall. It fastens by clamp fixing in a horizontal orientation and is supplied with a label space for circuit identification.
It is classified as a cover frame for domestic switching devices (ETIM EC000007) with a protection degree of IP20. As a cosmetic/finishing accessory it is non-illuminated and carries no electrical rating; it simply dresses the corresponding Chiara mounting box and mechanisms.
